MDAT is primarily used to identify minerals by using all type of analytical data obtained from mineral samples. It contains the most important chemical, physical, optical and X-ray diffraction data available for the approximately 3,650 minerals known to exist. The literature section of the current version of MDAT contains approximately 65,000 references, through 1995.
MDATAUTO is a program which calculates the crystal-chemical groups from the quantitative chemical analysis data (ICP, MP, etc.) with or without X-ray data and with intervals of your choice. A complex search file will be generated and executed by MDAT automatically. The results of this searchcan be viewed or printed. A further search within MDAT with other parameters is also possible.
